Pipe Genie
- internal inspection of unpiggable pipelines
Pipe Genie is a game-changing, cost-effective, low-resolution, internal pipeline screening technique. Requiring no ILI launcher/receiver infrastructure, it is designed specifically to identify and analyse faults and anomalies, such as leaks, sediment buildup and corrosion in onshore, offshore, buried and subsea “unpiggable and difficult to inspect” pipelines.
Able to navigate risers, tight bends, as well as large internal diamter changes, the MSIB (Multi Sensor Inspection Ball) technology contains a range of miniature magnetometry, accoutic, pressure and temperature sensors recording data as they flow through the pipeline, which is then downloaded for analysis. Pipelines remain fully operational, and measuring as little as 55 mm (2.1”) in diameter, Pipe Genie poses little to no risk of obstructing. pipelines.
Pipe Genie is a validated analytical technology, verified by in the ditch and subsea excavations and AUT mapping identifying:
- Girth Welds
- Casings
- Leaks
- Sediment build-up
- Wall Loss Changes (Corrosion)
- Other magnetic anomalies
As well as ASME B31G MAOP and Pipeline Life Expectancy
Float Arm

And with Hibot’s proprietary snake-motion control and unique self-balancing mechanism, Float Arm is able to navigate in complex environments and acquire detailed Visual, Ultrasonic and X-ray data for inspection and maintenance.
Float Arm is easily integrated with other systems such as extendable or mobile platforms, further extending its already impressive horizontal reach.
With Float Arm, hazardous works performed at heights or in confined spaces, with cost-demanding equipment, become faster and cheaper, with works typically taking 5-6 days, often able to be completed within a few hours.
With an impressive horizontal reach of 7m and vertically of 5m from its base position, Float Arm provides:
- Significantly reduced Scaffolding and Rope Access
- Faster – Cheaper – Safer
- Visual – Ultrasonics – X-Ray – 3D
- Liightweight and highly portable
- 7m horizontal and 5m vertical reach
THOR
- downhole heating system
THOR is an innovative in-situ downhole heater, revolutionising thermal applications whilst reducing carbon emissions, and emitting around 20 times less CO2 than traditional thermal operations such as steam floods. It’s ingenious mechanical design also avoids the reliability issues that plague ‘Electric Cable Heaters’, with no maintenance on its 3-5 year run life.
THOR can also be monitored remotely, eliminating the need for unnecessary on-site Maintenance Technicians typically required 24/7 by traditional downhole heater methods. And being significantly shorter and lighter with a fully sealed design, it is easier to deploy and retrieve and avoids free gas and solids shock loading, a key failure mechanism of existing pump systems technology..
Over 40% of the global remaining oil is heavy, which is most effectively developed by thermal operations. THOR works primarliy within this environment delivering:
- Up to 500% production increase in heavy oil
- Rental or Purchase options
- Break even as little as 8 weeks
- Increase pump efficiency and run life over 50%
- Flow assurance in wax and asphaltene
- Restoring production in liquid loaded gas wells
- Unblocking pipelines and risers

SONAR
- online storage tank cleaning ansd inspection
Historically, internal inspection of storage tanks has relied on tanks being taken out of service to allow entry following emptying and cleaning.
Sonomatic’s SONAR robotic technologies deploy its world leading automated corrosion mapping to tank floors, working within the tank sludge or removing it during inspection, whilst the tank remains fully operational.
This approach gives a high degree of assurance of tank floor integrity while avoiding the need for costly shutdowns and the hazards associated with confined space entry.
In-service cleaning and inspection is a cost-effective alternative for tanks where the need for repair has been assessed as low, providing significant benefits to operators:
- Removes the need for shutdowns
- No reduction in critical storage capacity
- Eliminates hazards associated with personnel entry to tank internals
- Sludge moved, mixed, or pumped out for external product reclamation
SQUID
- online heating coil internal inspection
Inspection of heating coils is often restricted to external examination, with the tank emptied, cleaned and out of service. Now, for the first time operators have a genuine alternative.
SQUID is injected into the heating coil using water at a flange break outside the tank shell. Tight U-bends are easily navigated by sensor probes, without the need to cut pipes or inspect externally, massively reducing the cost of downtime. Data is managed through SQUID’s digital platform for accurate predictive maintenance.
HiBot’s SQUID robotic inspection system enters the heating coil from the outside of the tank traversing through the coil, without any interruptions to normal operations offering:
- No operational downtime
- 360-degree wall thickness measurement of the coil
- 100% ultrasonic coverage
- 2″ pipes are measured up to 45m in length and 1″ up to 120m
ROTO CLIMBER

Roto Climber is a compact and robust modular system designed to provide more thorough inspections and repair work in some of the most challenging, hardest to reach and dangerous offshore environments, above, below and surrounding the waterline.
It is equipped with different types of cleaning and inspection techniques as well as a specialist wrapping system to strengthen the riser/conductor in the case of severe corrosion. And with its unique Clamp By-Pass technology, the new Roto Climber can be installed above water by-passing splashzone and subsea clamps without the normal intervention of divers, ROV’s or rope access personnel.
Their lightweight modular designs are built for a multitude of functions helping to reduce the cost of transportation, maintenance and personnel necessary to effectively install and operate the devices.

POWERLINE MAINTENANCE
- online maintenance & repair
The monitoring and maintenance of high and extra-high voltage lines in an electricity transmission grid is high risk and time-consuming often requiring very specific and specialised skills of workers operating tens of meters above the ground, in extremely hazardous conditions, or even on susposedly temporarily powered-down lines.
The Power Line Maintenance Robot both visually and physically inspects and repairs transmission powerlines as well as the installation or replacement of Aircraft Warning Spheres, without requiring any powering down – removing people from heights and extremely dangerous working conditions, decreasing injuries as well as costs, whilst at the same time increasing operational efficiency of live lines.
The main challenge is to be able to automate complex and not easily repeatable actions, in the environment of the working height and produce:
- Significant reduction in injuries and fatalities
- Reductions in falls of incorrectly secured high-level work technicians
- Dramatic reduction in project time and urban disruption
- Elimination of arc flash burns and injuries due to electrical discharge
- Reduced loss of working time due to weather
MINIATURE SMART PIG
- small bore pipeline ILI
The miniaturisation of Smart Pigs allows for the deployment of ultrasonic inspection technology into small diameter pipes, providing data for immediate action as well Risk Based Inspection, Remaining Life Assessment, and Fitness for Service analysis, supporting Asset Integrity Management
Miniature Smart Pigs can detect both internal and external corrosion. They are able to inspect external pipe walls from inside, and not be hindered by external wrapping, a particular challenge associated with Corrosion Under Insulation, as well as other supports. And without extensive access requirements, and the ability to overcome external fitting such as insulation and pipe supports, they are now an essential component of the integrity management arsenal.
Data collected by miniature ultrasonic Smart Pig allows for assessment of a variety of internal and external conditions to be made, including Integrity, Corrosion and Sediment threats for pipelines of:
- Internal diameter 65 – 300mm
- Wall thickness range up to circa 30mm
- Inspection length up to circa 25km
And Inspect 1km pipe internally and externally in about 30mins at a typical run speed of 0.5m/s.
